Challenges in Pension Research and Behavior in Old Age

Prof. Axel Boersch-Supan is the founder and director of the Mannheim Research Institute for the Study of the Economics of Aging (MEA). He has previously served as the chairman of the Council of Advisors for the German Ministry of Economy, chaired the steering committee for pension reform, and was a member of the German Presidential Committee for the Study of Demographic Changes. Over the years, he has consulted for numerous governments, the OECD, and the World Bank. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Max Planck Society, and starting in 2011, he assumed the role of head of the Max Planck Institute for Law and Social Policy. Prof. Brusch-Soffen is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences and chairs the coordinating committee for the Survey of Health, Aging, and Retirement in Europe (SHARE).
